The Centro Escolar University Scorpions were unable to defend their winning streak against the Philippine Christian University-Dasmarinas Dolphins after a heated game at the Universities and Colleges Athletic League (UCAL)-PG Flex Linoleum Season 6 held at the Paco Arena last Saturday, February 3.
In the first half of the game, the PCU-D Dolphins swiftly penetrated the Scorpions through their agile defense which helped them outlast the latter throughout the match.
By the second half, the Mendiola-based squad rallied, taking the lead and strategizing to both widen their advantage and strengthen defense amidst the time crunch.
Paco Arena heard all the cheers, screams, and support of the audience for both of the teams as the game became more intense because of the tie that the Scorpions made with only four minutes left on the clock.
However, the game concluded with a score of 62-59, securing the PCU-D Dolphins a win.
Continuing to lead the CEU squad is the reliable rookie Daniel Marcelo who was the only Scorpion to tally double-digits in the match with 23 points.
The team will face off against the University of Batangas Brahmans next, on Thursday, February 8, at the Paco Arena.
